Doggie Pumpkin Squares

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/3 c whole wheat flour
  • ½ c canned pumpkin
  • 2 tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt

Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix together the eggs, flour, pumpkin, smooth peanut butter, cinnamon and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • To make the dough kneadable, add water as needed.
  • Roll the dough out and cut to your desired shape and size.
  • Bake for about 30 mins, or until hardened.
  • Let cool and serve (make sure you “sit” and “shake” first!)

Buttery Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 c flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ sticks cold unsalted butter
  • ½ c cold buttermilk
  • 1 ½ c shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • Using a cheese grater, grate the sticks of butter. Quickly mix the butter in with the dry ingredients. You want the butter broken into smaller pieces or clumps in the bowl. Then, please the mixture in the freezer or fridge until you need it next, so the butter stays cold as long as possible.
  • Whisk the buttermilk and egg in another bowl.
  • Take the chilled dry ingredients out and quickly mix the wet and dry ingredients together with the cheese.
  • Quickly knead the dough, roll it out to ¾ in thick, and cut using a biscuit cutter.
  • Place the biscuits on a greased/lined baking sheet.
  • *Apply an egg wash (1 egg and 1 tbsp buttermilk) to top of biscuits – OPTIONAL
  • Bake 12-15 mins until golden brown.
  • Let cool and serve (make sure you “sit”, “down” and “roll over” first!)
