Homemade Dog Treats for Valentine’s Day

Must love dogs. Must love these two easy, healthy and homemade treats for Valentine’s Day!

Conversation Hearts

Ingredients:
– 2 cups oat flour
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 eggs
– 2 tbsp. melted coconut oil
– 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
– Natural food coloring

For Decoration:
Dog-friendly “royal icing”
Food pens to write with!

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Combine ingredients and divide dough into 4 equal portions.
3. Add preferred food coloring to each portion of dough.
4. Roll out each color and cut out hearts. Place cookies on a parchment-lined cookie sheets.
5. Bake for 20 minutes or until just starting to brown on the bottom.
6. Cool completely before icing or writing on your hearts.

No-Bake Strawberry Yogurt Treats

Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 cup oat flour
– 1 cup coconut flour
– 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
– 1/3 cup strawberries (or 4 large strawberries)
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 2 tbsp dried pomegranate seeds (optional)
– 1/4 cup shredded unsweetened coconut flakes

Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in food processor and pulse until combined. Form balls by the handful and squeeze tightly. Chill before serving for best consistency.
